Sweet Crude’s Alexis Marceaux on Everything from Voice Lessons to The Voice

Alexis Marceaux—singer for the Louisiana French / English bilingual band Sweet Crude— grew up in Chalmette, wanted to be a singer her whole life and thought that she would go to art school and then Loyola. But then Katrina came along and those plans changed. In a 30 minute interview with JRNOLA, Marceaux discusses that and much more, including her passion for performing, her love of turning a crowd that has never heard of Sweet Crude, writing her own music, life on the road, her childhood, fashion, and her struggle with COVID-19.

Of her interviewees, Marceaux said, “Y’all were incredible. You asked all the right questions!”
