“God did Everything”, Ragin’ Cajun Running Back Elijah McGuire said about his overall success so far. Being one of the best players in ULL history, McGuire has great expectations leading up to more success. At the New Orleans Bowl Media Day McGuire said, “I’m blessed”.
Not only is he the all-time Ragin’ Cajun touchdown leader and one of the best running backs in the school’s history, but he is also the first member of his family to graduate from college, and he did it in just three and a half years.
McGuire is surprised by his own success, “I had no intentions of doing the things that I did”. With his success on and off the field, he has made a big impact on the entire football program.
Coach Mark Hudspeth said he is excited for McGuire and is proud of him to be graduating from college. He thinks that Elijah has the potential of being one of the best football players in the league and he wishes the best for him.
Along with Coach Hudspeth, QuarterBack Anthony Jennings is happy for his teammate. “He’s a great dude, and he’s such a good person on and off the field. I’m thankful that I have so much of support from my teammates and coaches.”
Being such an amazing player and having a good support foundation, brings happiness along with many obstacles to get to success. Elijah McGuire is on his way to bigger and better achievements.
In his closing remarks McGuire said, “Everything happens for a reason, and I guess I was destined. God lead that destiny in order for me to do this.”
