SUMMER INTERVIEW CAMP!
Aspiring middle and high school journalists are encouraged to join our super socially distanced weekly summer interview camp online, via Zoom!
In short, each week we will have a different well-known public figure slated for an interview. These include pro athletes, actors, YouTubers, musicians. Students will work throughout the week to research and craft interview questions. At the same time, campers will learn from a professional journalist how to do a great interview. In addition, campers will also record a video interview (virtual press conference!) of our mystery guest and publish it online. Students can share these virtual press conferences with friends, family, and beyond. Above all, students will learn valuable skills, gain confidence, and have fun in the process.
Additionally, campers will get introduced to the field of journalism and reporting basics by interviewing special mystery guests. Interview guests will range from professional athletes to musicians to chefs to TV/Movie actors. Additionally, professional media from each field will make guest appearances to teach students how to conduct compelling interviews. Each week has a different theme and guest stars so multi-week campers are welcome!
